You Shouldn't Need Experience Before You're Given the Chance to Create Experience
Most opportunities begin with a question:
What have you done before?
Employers ask it.
Clients ask it.
Casting teams ask it.
Investors ask it.
Collaborators ask it.
And sometimes, it is a perfectly reasonable question.
But there is another side to it.
What happens to someone who has ability but hasn't yet been given the opportunity to demonstrate it?
A new actor needs work to build a showreel.
A filmmaker needs a project to build a portfolio.
A designer needs a client to demonstrate what they can create.
A young entrepreneur needs an opportunity to solve a real problem.
A creator needs an audience before people begin treating them like a creator.
This creates a strange loop:
You need proof to get opportunity.
But you need opportunity to create proof.
Roshopion is being built around a different possibility.
Start with what you can do
Instead of beginning only with qualifications, followers or previous achievements, imagine beginning with:
I CAN
I can edit videos.
I can act.
I can cook.
I can design.
I can teach.
I can write.
I can code.
I can photograph.
I can organize events.
I can solve problems.
I can make people laugh.
I can help someone.
These statements are not proof.
Not yet.
They are starting points.
Then tell the world what you need
Every human being also has needs.
I NEED
I need an editor.
I need an actor.
I need someone to design my logo.
I need a photographer.
I need help promoting my small business.
I need musicians.
I need collaborators.
I need someone who understands technology.
I need an opportunity.
Now something interesting becomes possible.
I NEED ↔ I CAN
A need can meet a capability.
But matching alone isn't enough.
Something needs to happen.
People need to create.
Collaborate.
Attempt.
Fail.
Try again.
Complete something.
And when that happens:
I CAN becomes I DID.
“I can edit videos” becomes:
“I edited this.”
“I can design” becomes:
“I designed this.”
“I can act” becomes:
“I performed in this.”
“I can solve this problem” becomes:
“Here is what I solved.”
That's evidence created through participation.
And when that evidence creates genuine economic value:
I DID can become I EARN.
That leads to a simple idea at the heart of what we're building:
I NEED ↔ I CAN → I DID → I EARN
Roshopion is still growing.
Not everything described here exists in its final form today.
That's important to say clearly.
We are building, experimenting and learning.
But the direction is simple:
Don't only tell the world who you are.
Show what you can create.
And eventually, Roshopion will go further.
We're developing THE ROSHOPIONS™ — The Open Human Incubation Show, a participatory entertainment experience built around another question:
What can a human become in 90 days?
People won't simply be asked what they can do.
They'll be given situations in which they can discover it.
Create.
Collaborate.
Solve real needs.
Build evidence.
Build relationships.
Create economic value.
And allow others to participate digitally.
Because perhaps the future of social platforms shouldn't only be about:
What did you post today?
Perhaps they can also ask:
What can you do today?
Who needs it?
What can you create together?
That's the future we're exploring with Roshopion.
